Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best way to clean my atomizer?
At Vape Gourmet, we have tried everything and by far, the best, easiest, and safest method is to boil your atomizer in clean water for 30 minutes. Let everything cool, then make sure the atomizer is completely dry. Add a few drops of eLiquid directly to the mesh and vape away!
Can eCigarettes help me quit smoking?
The FDA has not evaluated electronic cigarettes for this (or any other) purpose. We do NOT claim that they will help you to quit smoking. Many people though have reported that they were more easily able to stop smoking by switching to electronic cigarettes. Your results may vary.
How much nicotine do your eLiquids contain?
Vape Gourmet brand eLiquid contains NO nicotine at this time. If you need nicotine, there are lots of places that can get you unflavored nicotine eLiquid. Our nicotine-free eLiquids are made extra strong so you can mix them with other eLiquids. We MAY sell nicotine containing eLiquid in the future.
Vape Gourmet eLiquid is made with water, food grade vegetable glycerin, and food grade flavorings. We obtain all our glycerin and flavorings from sources used for food. Our anise, clove, and peppermint flavors are made using natural essential oils of these plants. All our other flavors are made with food grade artificial flavorings and may contain some propylene glycol which is used in these food flavors.
Do I have to be 18 to purchase from Vape Gourmet?
Yes. This is a self-imposed industry standard practice as well as the law here in New Hampshire. Electronic cigarettes are meant to be a less dangerous alternative to smoking. We do not condone underage smoking and so a smoking alternative such as vaping should not be used by people under 18 either.
The short answer is that vaping is probably legal where you are. We have not heard of any bans on the use, purchase, nor possession of vaping equipment currently in the US, but there have been attempts to get those passed in some places. There is a proposal to the FDA to classify electronic cigarettes as tobacco products as of February 2010. The importation was partially banned in the US from late 2009 till January 2010. If you really need to be sure, please consult a lawyer. The State of New Hampshire, where Vape Gourmet is based has restricted the sale of electronic cigarettes to those over 18 years of age and has banned their use on public school property.
While the long term effects of vaping have not been studied, we cannot make the claim that vaping is completely safe. What we CAN say is that it is MOST LIKELY a lot LESS DANGEROUS than smoking. With smoking, you are burning tobacco leaves. The smoke contains many chemicals. Many of them are quite nasty. With vaping, nothing is burning. The ingredients in the eLiquid will vary, but at least with the nicotine-free eLiquids you get from Vape Gourmet, you can be confident that everything we use is food-safe. Nothing goes into our eLiquids that we wouldn't feel safe eating. We believe this makes vaping a safER experience than smoking.
